Brigid, or the Exalted One, is the goddess of spring, fertility, and life. Beloved by poets, she was the master of both healing and smithing. Goddess full of healing, fertility, and motherhood, but also of passion and fire, of serenity and water as well.
Truly a beautiful Goddess. I wanted to convey the character of the Goddess. It was impossible to show all her symbols because there are many of them. In her right hand is fire, and in her left hand is the symbolic Cross. I placed grass and ears of grain on the bottom of the dress. There is a lot of information in this. Where plants grow, there is water. So I showed another of the Brigid symbols - water. Where plants grow, there is life! There is warmth, spring, and sun. The grains on the ears are a symbol of new life. It is known that Brigid was the protector of newborns and new life.
This sculpture of the Goddess can tell us a lot about her. It also has a lot of unspoken things in it. Because Brigid is a Goddess full of indescribable beauty. She cannot be shown. She can only be known, felt, and believed!
The height of the Brigid statuette is 7 cm.
The sculpture is made of natural clay. It is fired at a temperature of 1000 - 1200 degrees.
I make these statuettes to order. Therefore, they may differ minimally from those that you see in the photo. But the differences are really minimal. Handicraft makes sculptures special, unique, and, consequently, art.
