A unique individually hand made and painted clay model of a Highland Cow, This little highland cow measures 5cmx6cm and is made out of stonewear clay and painted in iron colour.
This cow is made by my husband David on the Isle of Skye in Scotland where we have a small pottery workshop.
Each cow Clare makes by hand and so each is different, we like to think they have their own personality.
He makes the little cows then puts them in a pottery kiln and after they fire for 12 hours he paints each by dipping them in colour. They then go back into the kiln to fire for another 12 hours.
The process is quite a long one but we love the result of the little guys.
